Faith Without Fear

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”Isaiah 41:10 (KJV)

God's most repeated command is 'fear not', and it always comes attached to a reason rather than a demand to feel brave.

Scripture never tells the fearful to simply try harder. Every command not to fear comes with a reason attached, and the reason is always something about God rather than something about us.

Count what is promised here: presence, identity, strength, help, and a hand that holds. Two fears are named, and five answers are given. God overwhelms the fear with Himself.

Faith is not the absence of fear. It is choosing to act on what God has said while the fear is still speaking. Many faithful people in Scripture were afraid and obeyed anyway.

If you are facing something this week that frightens you, do not wait for the feeling to change before you obey. Take the step, and let the promise carry the weight.
