For years I believed God was real, but I thought I had to fix my life before I could come to Him. I found the salvation page late one night and read John 3:16 slowly for the first time. I prayed the prayer in my own words and told my sister the next morning. I am still learning, but I am no longer hiding from God.

I submitted a prayer request about my job situation and the team prayed with me for several months. The role I wanted did not come. What came instead was steadier work closer to my family and a peace I had not known in years. I would not have chosen this path, and I am grateful for it.

My wife and I had not prayed together in four years. We started using the prayer for family peace on this site, reading it aloud on Sunday evenings because neither of us knew what to say. It was awkward at first. Ten months later it is the part of the week we both look forward to most.

I work nights and had given up on church years ago because every service happened while I was asleep. Being able to worship at three in the morning changed everything for me. I read a scripture card before each shift, and I have finished reading the New Testament for the first time in my life.

I had confessed the same sin privately hundreds of times and always went back to it. What changed was telling one trusted believer and asking for prayer every week. It was not instant. It has been fourteen months now, and the shame that kept me silent has lost its grip.

Our family now prays the journey prayer before every long trip. On our last drive we were delayed almost an hour by a small problem with the car, and we later learned there had been a serious accident on that road ahead of us. We cannot claim to know all of God's reasons, but we thanked Him that night.
