“For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”Ecclesiastes 12:14 (KJV)
A word of warning to the careless and a word of comfort to those who have suffered in silence.
This verse cuts in two directions, and both are needed. To anyone living a double life, it is a warning: what is done in private is not actually private. God sees it now, and He will address it.
To anyone who has been quietly harmed, and who watched the person responsible walk away untouched, it is a comfort. Your case is not closed. It is filed with a Judge who does not accept bribes and cannot be deceived.
The same verse also covers the good that no one saw. The prayers prayed alone. The forgiveness extended without applause. God brings every work into judgment, and He does not lose the small ones.
Live today as one who is seen. Not watched by a suspicious eye, but known by a righteous Father.
Key points
- Private sin is not private before God.
- Unaddressed injustice is not forgotten injustice.
- Hidden faithfulness is recorded too.
A prayer to close
Righteous Father, You see what no one else sees. Where I have hidden sin, expose and cleanse it. Where I have been wronged, I entrust the matter to You. Amen.
